Title: OTS CD Scratch 1200 FREE
Post by: mel garland on August 12, 2012, 01:56:01 PM
Just received a message from OTS Steve in responce to not having CD import in the new OTS and he suggested downloading the above software from the OTS website to com pinsate for it.  Downloaded it and been playing with it and it does the trick.  Am able to use the same sound card whilst OTSAV is running so am now a happy bunny.  Thanks you OTS Steve.

It would help (sorry to be a critic again Adam/Steve - hindsight is a wonderful thing) if in the release notes where it said this feature was deprecated they had added "but it's still available in our free CD Scratch software - available from http://www.cdscratch.com".

Good to know it's still there - I use it now and then.

Why would someone put a cd that has been burned by someone else into their dj system!

I never have used it, for "strippers"  that have turned up at bars I have worked in, usually though they trust my judgement and just let me play a "set" for them.

I am also very wary of inserting a cd into my pc that somebody just decides to bring along, and there have been plenty. no-one has ever fallen out with me over my refusal to play there cd if they have someting that is really important to them all they have do do is let you know in advance. :)

Who said anything about playing a burned CD.  I will only play an original CD and at my discretion.  You may not do it but that doesn't mean others don't do it.  I have never been let down by playing a CD at a gig but there is always a first time. Another way of looking at it, and people have already say they do it, why would I want to burning it in studio then install it on my hardrive.  This to me opens up a greater risk of picking up viruses.
