Hi can anyone recommend a hardware controller for Ots preferably under £200. Was looking at the Numark Mixtrack but can't work out if there is a map for it or if it would work. Any help or advise much appreciated.
Hayden
The officially supported ones are listed on the OtsAV website: http://www.otsav.com/midi-hardware-control-maps/
The Denon HC4500 is the most recommended on here. Budget models that seem to work OK include the Hercules DJ Console RMX and I personally use a Numark Total Control that I wrote my own OHM file for - but the build quality is nowhere near as good as the Denon stuff - it's just a shame that currently you would need to shell out on a X500 or X900 mixer to get a cross fader with it.
Have fun,
Darryl.
The Hercules RMX - at my suggestion and created mostly by Darryl in double harness with Jumpin' Jeff, now has fader start - could be a good place to start.
Thanks for the advise , sounds like the Hercules RMX might be a good place to start.
Cheers
Try and pick up a Denon 4500. I have seen them cheap enough 2nd hand.
HC4500 definitely even with a cheap mixer is currently the best option. I use it with my MC6000 as my mixer, although I can control OTS with my MC6000 its not totally supported yet so the HC4500 is the best solution, until the MC6000 is fully supported. Although not in your budget.
The Behringer BCD3000 also works and you get cross fader functionality with that. But you will need an additional sound card or use the onboard cos the Behringer soundcard sucks (well mine does and I have never got it to work!)
Thanks, looking around the Behringer BCD3000 looks like a good buy for a start off deck. I have an ASIO Dual channel sound card anyway which works fine if the onboard is poor. Think I will then see what functionality come on Esperance release and maybe upgrade to something a bit better quality.
Cheers

From my own personal experience I bought a BCD3000 as it was one of the cheapest options and one of the controllers which OTS "claim" to support. I found this not to be the case and functionality was VERY basic and limited. I ended up selling the Behringer after very little use (and a few close calls to being thrown out of the window) and invested in a Denon HC4500 instead. Needless to say it is true that you get what you pay for and I have not looked back since. It beats the pants off every other controller and is well worth the extra outlay.
Thanks G-wulf . I have picked up a BCD3000 for £50 so will give that a go to start with. Then once Esperance is out I will upgrade to a much better controller as to be honest OTS has very little functionality or controller support at the moment and there are some really good new ones coming out.
Hi all,
I just found a midi controller to be very convenient for the price. It is the American Audio DP2 which is a 19 inches rack mountable and has 3 outputs. It works well with otsAV, even there is not a mapping file I create one that works well on it. The price is less than 299.00, I get mine for half the price. If any interesting on get the OHML midi control map, just email me and I will more than glad to share it with you all. al925980 at yahoo dot com, is my email. I also have the driver for XP pro 32 bits in case you struggling getting thouse drivers.
Thank you everybody and Jeff for your help some time ago.
Thanks for sharing your OHM file.
nice one Emilio - I did not know about the American Audio DP2 controller - thanks for the file OTS OHM too.
Nice RM controller! Thanks for sharing!
