Hi All. I've just acquired a second-hand BCD3000 controller to use with my OTSAV and Windows 7 and after downloading the latest drivers and fixes almost all works well but there is one nagging problem remaining.
Whenever I try to assign channels 1/2 to "On-Air" and channels 3/4 to "Cue" I get the error message "Failed to allocate Audio Device. Close other audio programs then try again. Ensure you are using latest ASIO driver for your device". I can get around this problem in a fashion by assigning Asio4all or the Controller's sound card to the "On-Air" channels and assigning the laptop soundcard to the "Cue" channel. The obvious problem with this is that the headphone socket on the controller becomes redundant and I have to plug my phones into the laptop itself in order to access the Cue channel. Obviously I would ideally prefer my phones to be plugged into the controller itself *IF* I can get this working.
Does anyone out there have experience or knowledge of this problem and maybe how I can fix it to get the BCD3000 running as it should be?
Many thanks.
Jason.
Are you certain you have installed the ASIO driver for the BCD3000 - if you just plug it in it uses default Microsoft drivers and channels 3/4 will not be available.
The drivers are on the Behringer website:

Hi Darryl.
Yes I have version 1.3.4 of the drivers loaded in although on the dashboard ASIO still shows up as version 1.2.0.0. I don't know whether this is standard or not but the drivers are definitely as up-to-date as I can get them.
Jason.
You have to use the ASIO cue drop down to select the cue channel for an ASIO sound card:

I have tried that very method Darryl and every time I select it a notification appears that says the program has stopped working and will close. Nothing's ever as straight forward as we like it, eh?
I haven't got this controller, so all my suggestions are guesses...
With most ASIO sound cards you see the ASIO device in the down list of "On AIR" devices as well as the WDM or Compat device. Make sure you have selected the ASIO version (there may be more than one - with my SB Audigy it listed 1/2, 3/4 etc up to 7/8). Also I had trouble with my M-Audio FastTrack Pro, it would only work if I made 3/4 the main output and 1/2 the cue. You could try it the other way around (but I suspect the headphone jack wont work in this case).
Have you searched the forum for BCD2000 or BCD3000? I'm sure you aren't the first to try this.
Have fun,
Darryl.
I've never had any luck in fully assigning the audio with the BCD 3000. I can't even get it to work with a mic. And yes this does cause a problem when trying to cue. But until Behringer sort it out I think we're a bit stuck!
hi guys.... i have the same issue with my bcd 3000 - it starts fine but then locks up - after that the FAILED TO FIND AUDIO blah blah blah comes up.... the asio4all works but headphones dont work nor does the volume. Why is nothing easy??
I just use it as a controller for Traktor now. It works ok for that. I use my Denon HC4500 for Ots and use its soundcard
yer can't go wrong with a Denon HC4500 with OTSAV - I had a Behringer BCD3000 and found it very frustrating and not very OTSAV friendly so out the door it went................ well on EBAY
