I am sure members will know Ots was launched in 1999 25 years ago, I think I have been with Ots for 24 of those years. Still using it every day although no longer doing gigs. Those of us that are left on the forum have been here from the early days as well. It has never let me down. Congratulations to Ots.

I've been using it since... (thinking) ... 2001!

but, unfortunately, it has let me down... though I still use and love it!

(one day, I will find the gremlin that causes the issues...  but so far, it eludes me!)

I've bee with Ots since the very beginning (or close to it). I stumbled across it when looking for a replacement for Real Player which crashed numerous times per night, and was initially impressed with the stability and the DSP.

It is a great piece of software, but, sadly could have been so much more. It seems to have evolved in a series of "spurts" but with great gaps in between the spurts. We got S&L, but it only went part of the way towards true radio automation and legal logging requirements.

We got video, but are forced to use one specific format of video from early DVDs when others have embraced all of the available formats. These days, when every smartphone can display multiple formats, Ots has fallen way behind.

We got a user interface that looks pretty similar to what it was on day one, 25 years ago. Most others have a much nicer, modern dashboard that is user-configurable to suit individual needs.

We got a kind of controller scripting language, but it was limited to a handful of then-available DJ controllers, and has never evolved. Some enterprising people have managed to get it to work with other , more modern equipment, but it is hard work and not for the faint-hearted.

Like Ron, I still use Ots daily locally within my home, and to stream privately so that I can hear my own music wherever I am in the world. The fact that it remain perfectly stable for many months between re-boots is remarkable. I just wish that it had become the world's leading playout software, as it had the potential to do way back in 1999.

Well put and said Milky, I did not expect to be still discussing Dj software after 25 years but still enjoy using it.
