Hi,

I used to subscribe to Napster, download my music then converrt to .ots files but they've stopped the "download" faciility and it's all streaming playlists these days.

I was wondering how other Ots users keep their playlists current, are there good sites to get music from, legitimatly or otherwise?

What methods do you use?

I'd prefer a subscription service but at the moment I'm not fussy.

Thank you in advance.

Hi we use Promo only as we now do video music, but you could try The CD Pool as they offer a subscription service.
If you read the small print on Napster, Itunes or any of the music download sites it says not to be used for commercial use?
You have to tick a button to say you have read and understood their T & Cs so like many others you have been breaking the copyright and performing rights laws so I would suggest CD Pool or Mastermix is another one unless you have plenty of money and like taking risks?

We don't so only use legal material but it does have its draw backs as you can't compete with lower prices offered by those choosing to use illegal music! But that is another subject altogether :censored:

I use Amazon for those special, hard to find requests also.

I used to love YourRemix until they closed up shop. They had the best remixes (both audio and amazing videos). They were pay-per-download.

A monthly subscription type resource I found online is MyMP3Pool.com. They also offer some videos but usually have to verify the download afterwards (some are cut off or badly overmodulated).

I use Prime Cuts MP3 Service for general music.

Unruly record pool for urban and local artists.

Amazon when I need older stuff or international music.

There is some overlap between Prime Cuts and Unruly.

I don't mean to be hijacking this thread but it is close enough to my question that I decided not to start a new thread.

I have cut my need for new music way back so I am having a hard time justifying a music subscription service.  I see many of you use Amazon for purchasing individual files.  My question is about how "clean" the edits are on Amazon. Does the "not for commercial use" apply to Amazon files?

Also, are there other places where you can buy individual files that are clean edits of the songs?

Thanks.

I think you will find most downloads are for non commercial use, but you will have to check were you work for  licences etc.
